One inbox for everything — answer disputes, bugs, press, anything else. Before you write, it is worth checking the FAQ: most mail that arrives is a question already answered there, usually “why did my correct answer only score 10 points?”

Reporting an answer

This is the most useful mail you can send. The answer bank is hand-sorted, so it gets things wrong. Two kinds of wrong:

Include the prompt, exactly what you typed, and the date you played. That is enough to find it and fix it.

Reporting a bug

Tell us what happened, what you expected, and which browser and device you were on. If the dive got stuck or a score looked wrong, the date matters — say which day you were diving.

What happens to an answer report

Rejected answers are already logged automatically, so a report is not the only way a gap gets found — but it is the fastest, because it comes with the context the log does not have. A report that says this is a real cheese and here is where it is from can be checked and added in one pass.

Mis-tiering reports are harder and more valuable. The tiers are set by hand from how widely known an answer is, and the judgement drifts: something obvious in one country is obscure in another. Reports are how that gets corrected against real players rather than against one person's guess. Scoring explains how the tiers are cut, if you want to argue with a specific number.

Response time

This is a small operation, so replies are not instant. Answer reports get read even when they do not get a reply — they go straight into the queue of fixes for the bank.

Press and everything else

Same address. If you are writing about the game and need the details straight — how the tiers are cut, how big the banks are, what is and is not stored about a player — the scoring and privacy pages are written to be quotable, and anything missing from them can be asked for directly.
